Pieter Sampson has over 38 years of work experience of which extensive obtained in the field of Human Resource Management & Development, on executive level, in the ship repairs industry of the Netherlands Antilles. From 1989 -2001 he has been in charge of the management of Curacao's National Tourism Authority with full responsibility for the global offices established in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. In this position he has been entrusted with the destination management, consisting of both the marketing and product planning and development functions, including the promotion of tourist related investments for the vacation destination.
As from the year 2002 Pieter has been owner and executive director of
MACFARLANE Consultancy BV in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The company offers the following services: international business promotion between European SMEs and those of other regions, and particularly in Latin America and Africa, business brokerage as well as consultancy in the field of tourism and marketing.
Pieter holds a BSME from the Institute for Technology in Arnhem and an MBA, with majors in marketing and finance from the Syracuse University (NY).
Kim Gebhardt obtained in 2002 her Bachelor's Degree in International Tourism Management & Consultancy from the NHTV University for Professional Education in Breda (The Netherlands). Her major was in International Business Communication.
Kim's study in tourism management included gaining professional work experience with a particular focus on the sustainable development of tourism and included such projects as a/o: assisting in the implementation of an island-wide tourism awareness program designed for the local population of one of the Dutch Antilles – Curaçao, assist with the design of eco cabins to be constructed in the backyard of the local population for Dutch tourists visiting said island, coordinating the organization of an environmental youth camp in St John ( British Virgin Islands), and assist with the assessment of the agro tourism potential for the area of Rawa Pening, Java, Indonesia and with the formulation of recommendations for a Tourism Development Plan for the area. Kim worked for a marketing research firm from 2004 – 2006 and joined in April 2007 MACFARLANE Consultancy BV entrusted with design of tourism marketing projects for clients in the African continent.
